Just figured it out: Geese sound like the Stones and Thinking Fellers Union Local 282 genetically fused together, like in Cronenberg's The Fly. It's a good thing. Great stuff.

Without sounding like any of them, they remind me, in spirit, of Roxy Music, Sly And The Family Stone, Kraftwerk, The Stooges, Can.

It's just a vibe. I cannot back it up with rational discourse.

More about Geese.... when they want to be a country rock band, they are the best country rock band, but then they leave it all behind to become abrasive and angular, and it all feels fluid. Not like they're trying to leap from genre to genre.

Always bugged me when people said shit like "rock and roll is back!", as if it ever goes away, but Geese feel like the heralds of something new and exciting. By all means, young bands, try to be like Geese!
