16. We really really really need to bring back level design. I just wanna go explore a place that someone made on purpose with thought and intentionality but everything's either procedurally generated now or too massive in scope to put any real effort or care into

15. I'm like 90% certain at this point that when people say a video game is "immersive", they usually just mean "engaging"

And obviously you don’t have to like long games! Some people don’t have time for that shit! I get it! I tend to avoid longer games too!

But it's just such a weird, weird, WEIRD entitled way of saying “long games aren’t for me,” or “I don’t have time for that”. Absolutely bizarre framing.

14. One of my least favorite phrases in video game discussions is when someone says a game is “not respecting their time”. Like who the hell do you think you are. Do you even hear yourself.

An game is not disrespecting you by having a different vision than you and moving at its own pace lol

13. I'm really grateful that free-to-play live-service microtransaction slop games consistently have the most repellent ui imaginable because if they didn't I might actually fall into their trap

9. We need to have fewer character creators and start having more bespoke protagonists instead. As much as I like making up a guy and dressing them up I would rather play a real character than an empty vessel. I think a lot of game writing suffers because they're not allowed an actual protagonist

8. Modern pokemon games are not substantially worse than the old ones, you're just burnt out on the premise and they haven't meaningfully shaken things up in like 20 years

7. I would rather play mario party 9 or 10 than any of the n64 ones in spite of the car shit everyone hates. The minigames are just better
