This is a great example of what happens when we lay down our proof-texts and cookie-cutter systematics, and instead allow Holy Spirit to breathe on scripture, revealing the silver thread of redemptive glory.

The significance of the #Crucifixion is not in competition with that of the Resurrection, nor the #Resurrection with the #Ascension, etc. It’s all one story, one passion, one redemptive, reconciling action.

It’s all #Incarnation.

The #PaschalMystery is the holistic convergence of #divinity and #humanity in and through Christ Jesus, not a series of isolated, temporal events disconnected from each other. As such, no part of the #Passion stands on its own, but is interwoven with the whole.

He is the reflection of God’s glory and the exact imprint of God’s very being, and HE SUSTAINS ALL THINGS by his powerful word. When he had made purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.

Tragic? Yes. But let’s go ahead and #forgive them - and us - too.

#Empire is never the path of #Christ — and which #politicalparty pulls its levers of #power does not change that.

As a psychologist specializing in trauma, I can see both sides. I wonder if the solution might be restoration of meaningful catechesis, not only in prep for confirmation, but on an ongoing basis.

If it involves any form of #manipulation, #coercion, or #threat, it’s not the #GoodNews. #godislove

There is no justice without love. So long as we tolerate hate, including hate directed at ‘haters’, there will be no justice. Hate begets hate. Love alone – God alone – breaks that cycle. And, we are included in that holy work through our participation in the divine nature.

All that #God does is a demonstration of self-emptying, #cruciform love; the very same #Love that He is.
