Art by Oscar Howe. US Cavalry soldiers with guns stand over a pit that many Native people's bodies are falling into.
On Dec. 29, 1890, the US 7th Cavalry massacred more than 300 Lakota people at #WoundedKnee on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. More than half of them were women & children.
(We're not going to distress their descendants by posting photos of relatives' bodies lying frozen in the snow.)

Which states get the most % of their money from US Dept of Education? Versus that stateβs Trump vote. Red states hurt themselves the most if they eliminate the Dept of Education.

Anishinaabe style acrylic painting of a red rattlesnake with woodland symbols painted a darker red inside to show movement and energy. He has horns to show his spiritual power. His rattle is shaking, shown by movement lines around the rattle. There are fireweed flowers and cattails with leaves all around him.

Anishinaabe style acrylic painting of a rabbit jumping over some wild roses with thorns. The sun is split down the middle to look like a megis shell. The rabbitβs heart is depicted with circles and a line connecting the rabbitβs heart to his eye. The sky is pink, darker at the top and lighter at the bottom, and there are many stars in the sky.
