In the coming hours and days, people are going to try and tell you not to believe what you were seeing with your own eyes and hearing with your own ears. Donald Trump and Elon Musk usher in the age of American fascism. Musk is a Nazi and always has been. Democracy is being destroyed by nazis.

πŸ’₯BREAKING IN SYRIAπŸ’₯Syrian rebels report dictator Bashar al-Assad has fled Damascus, and claim to have captured the capital.

BREAKING: Ireland Loses General Election

Sad to see Finna FΓ‘il win the most seats in Ireland. The status quo maintained and extremely low voter turnout.

Brexit makes no sense in a world dominated by Trump. Britain’s place is back in the EU | Jonathan Freedland From defence to trade, the incoming US president is upending the old order – and standing apart from our neighbours leaves us dangerously exposed, says Guardian columnist Jonathan Freedland

www.theguardian.com/commentisfre.... β€œIn the age of #Trump, when the #US is no longer the predictable guarantor it once was, #Britain cannot thrive alone and in the cold. It’s not ideology or idealism, but hard-headed, practical common sense to say our place is in #Europe – and to say so now.”

COP29 or Flop29?

Every week I share good news, not so good news, and something we can do about climate change. This week the topic was COP29, and I had to dig pretty deep.

Democrats had a great message on Project 2025. It was so deeply unpopular that Trump had to deny any connection.

Now that Trump has said he plans to hire key figures from Project 2025 for his administration, Democrats need to sound the alarm. It will still be unpopular.

Watching Say Nothing and reading Notes on Resistance by Noam Chomsky at the same time is a bad recipe. Somebody stop me before I buy the Anarchist Cookbook.*

*Gerry Adams has always denied being a member of the IRA or participating in any IRA-related violence.

Democrats haven’t abandoned the working class. There hasn’t been even a modicum of proletariat support since Carter and even that was flimsy. Trump promised to protect workers from the β€œthreat” of immigration and China and we bolstered his case by ignoring the working class and their struggles.

Environmental groups alarmed as Doug Burgum picked for US interior secretary Several groups say North Dakota governor will sacrifice public lands on the β€˜altar of the fossil fuel industry’s profits’

Good time for a reminder that Doug Burgum is the same guy who set up the meeting at Mar-a-Lago where Trump reportedly promised environmental regulation cuts for $1 billion in campaign contributions from Big Oil execs.
