It gets harder to be redeemed the worse you done.
A murderer must give back a parent, a sibling, a son or daughter, a grandfather and whatever else that person was, and double it.
Most likely a hot take however, I think that someone no matter what they did can be redeemed, at least morally.
Even someone who allowed a genocide, can be redeemed if they tried hard enough.
At least to my belief if you give double or 2.5x what you did "wrong" you are redeemed
