Also, even if Cognitive Debt as defined here exists (which I find unproven), the root cause may not even be solely AI, it might just be one factor. The study didn't test if participants had similar results after doing something else, for example, watching Fox News for an hour.

So we have a study that basically says "Hey, if you do this thing, you'll get the result of doing this thing." Which is both meaningless and useless.

And ironically, by not approaching the study critically, people are doing the very thing that the study warns us is the problem in the first place.

People reposting this study but nobody seems to be pointing out that "Cognitive Debt" hasn't even been shown to be a real thing that happens - and the definition that the study presents is not only different than that of other studies, it seems to be based on the premise of the study itself.

I ran stuff on Roll20 for about a year, then switched to Fantasy Grounds and the difference is night and day. FG has a bigger learning curve, but it's 1000x better when running a supported game.
