#COYW head coach Patrice Gheisar on Sean Rea: "I think every person who watched that game would agree that he pleaded his case [to start] today. He was so influential."

When asked about Giorgio Probo’s absence from the match day squad, Gheisar says it was a “tactical decision”.

Head coach Patrice Gheisar says his group should stew in today’s result but have to move forward quickly starting tomorrow.

He says Telfer’s goal, which was ruled offside, was 100 per cent a goal.

“I don’t understand that. That’s as big of an error as I’ve ever seen in this league,” he says.

Wanderers captain Andre Rampersad says the group needs to feel shame for dropping four matches in a row and allowing Vancouver FC to come in and walk away with three points at the Wanderers Grounds.

“We’ve got to be ashamed because they came all the way from the West Coast,” he says.

Head coach Martin Nash, given the fact the club hadn’t won a league match in three months, says he feels for the players and is glad they were rewarded.

He says he wanted to hold off pressing too hard given the Wanderers’ target forwards.

“Any win right now, we’ll take,” he says.

Speaking post-match, @vanfootballclub.bsky.social defender Matteo Campagna says the club’s plan was to nix Halifax’s long ball threats by sitting deeper and to force them to play in front.

He says the win is a “relief” given their struggles this season.

And @hfxwanderersfc.bsky.social have lost four matches in a row, this time falling to a Vancouver FC squad that has been historically poor.
