Media often struggles with Trump's supercharged use of *pretexts,* I.e. his fake justifications for doing things. Coverage often says Trump is "arguing" that this or that is happening, when reporters and editors themselves know it isn't a real argument. This is rarely conveyed to readers.

I think it also hits different because DC has such a special place in my heart. My family has been here for six generations. It’s where we found freedom from enslavement and built ourselves up. It’s more than a tourist trap, it is HOME. A home I love, love, love to pieces.
