2/ Until the 1980s Little Egrets were a rare sight in the UK but theyโve been on the up since they first bred in Dorset in 1996. Population estimates have, however, proven tricky to assess, with birdwatchers contributing data to @ukrbbp.bsky.social and BTOโs Heronries Census.

We're closing in on our first ยฃ6,000 milestone for the Beacon Ponds Little Tern Project.
Itโs just the start, but hitting this today would be huge. Please share if you can.
Thank you for all your support so far!
๐งต An urgent appeal to protect one of the UKโs most important Little Tern colonies at Beacon Ponds in 2026.
Without funding for professional wardening, the project may not be able to run this season.

First two pages of the comic. Page one features a Kittiwake in the sky wondering where all the birds have gone. Page two shows how climate change impacts the diet of seabirds. One fish looks healthy, the other ones looks smaller and poorer quality.
