"No Name" by Nancy Grossman. Label reads "Nancy Grossman is best known for her sculptures of leather-clad heads, including No Name. In a labor intensive process, Grossman carved, painted, and polished each head out of found wood before encasing it in repurposed leather that she meticulously cut and sewed together. Evoking bondage war, her sculptures expore power dynamics and embrace gender ambiguity. Though the heads appear masculine, the artist refers to them as self-portraits. Subverting the expectation that he'd ask for a "lady's favor", he instead receives said favor from another, younger man who is tying a ribbon around the knight's jousting lance. Ladies look on surprised/shocked/delighted.
