We need real grassroots community activism, people from within the community standing up to make change, bussing in activists from outside is not a sustainable approach!
People that speak the language, communicate on a level, part of their community!

The unrest we are seeing outside hotels housing asylum seekers and in our communities is unacceptable. The protests are the result of the deliberate spread of myths and lies about asylum seekers and refugees and are being stoked by far right

The threat to Allotments should be taken very seriously, for many Allotments are the only access to land
We should all have a right to land, to grow and to flourish. These proposals will have a disastrous effect on people's physical and mental health, increase food prices

They're right to be angry, but they're angry at the wrong people, the government, the elite, they're the ones we need to hold to account

I only ended up on that side of the demo because those kids behind me were getting picked on

There is no immigration crisis. Our successive governments are either bombing or aiding in the obliteration of countries in the Global South, then whipping up racist hatred against those very victims. The problems are what the rich are doing to the poor.

I won't sign pledges for any of the special interest groups, I've explained a number of times, I don't agree with pledges done for internal lobbying, we have a manifesto, we have policies and a constitution agreed by all members, that's what I stick to.

Back out in Harehills today handing out our information leaflets.
We'll keep going until we see some changes.
Also paid a visit to a number of local businesses, especially the staff at Greggs, to see how they are after their recent troubles.

Today on Samudaripen (Romani Holocaust) Remembrance Day, we remember and honour all the Roma and Sinti who were murdered by Nazis. Never forgotten.

We should take the lessons from history and stop it from being repeated, as it currently is in Gaza, and do everything we can to stop it
