It’s so regional. I know there are some places where there is a solid minority still masking. Despite being pretty leftie, Massachusetts had few maskers by 2021, and I could go for weeks without seeing anyone in a mask.

I have lots of younger siblings, and I think I’m pretty decent at big sister-ing. How can I help?

So if he’s never heard of it, it must not exist? School must have been such a weird experience for him.

Listen to Bannon and Laura Loomer if you think it’s just Democrats opposed to this aspiring dictator and his "techno-feudalism."

“Pausing” monthly food means people go hungry. THIS month. They don’t have a store of back up food. This is inhumane.

I’m a librarian, and I run into this at work all the time when people come in for tech help. All ages have a mindset that they can/should only do things they already know how to do. They get so stuck because they aren’t able to explore new things.

Members of the U.S. Congress and Senate:

You were elected by the people of your state to represent them, not Donald Trump. You took an oath to support the Constitution of the United States, not to Donald Trump.

Do your job.

This is so much better than washing the cushions, which often seem to shrink or change shape even if washed according to manufacturer instructions

Word of the Day is one I keep posting at the end of the year, hoping its time will come.

‘Respair’, from the 16th century, is fresh hope, and a recovery from despair.

Here’s to a few drops of respair in 2025.

Matt resigned, gave up the nomination, all so his messy past wouldn’t get airtime. Whoops! They must really hate him and need him to stay gone.

And yet, they want us to be professionals. They need us to have credentials — teachers, social workers, nurses, librarians — that take years and $$ to earn, but don’t think that should translate to comfortable wages.

Yay, sexism! I’m keenly aware of this as I finish my MSLIS in order to take low paid library jobs.

Can you imagine receiving a gift wrapped in that? It’s both offensive and self serving, nothing to do with the spirit of gift-giving and generosity.

Your Favorite (and Least Favorite) 2024 Read Harder Tasks The results are in from the 2024 Read Harder Survey! Here are the most popular and least popular 2024 Read Harder Challenge tasks.

I am not going to begrudge Book Riot or anyone else for monetizing content, but having a headline like this and then making 100% of the faves and least faves members-only is exasperating.

Trying to envision a possible backstory for the woman I just saw waking through the airport carrying just a hotel ice bucket and a Bible or Book of Mormon.

I, too, always have to look the thing up, and I feel lucky that it’s a built in part of my job to do this for other people.
