Judge: NH is underfunding special education This is the second court in six weeks to conclude New Hampshire is failing to adequately fund public education. The state Supreme Court said the state is underspending on general education.

Their child care center closed with little notice. Three weeks later, they opened their own. A group of New Hampshire parents sensed trouble and hatched a plan to hold onto their child care.

How did a group of parents respond when the owner of their child care center gave them less than 24 hours notice he was closing? They raised money to rehire the staff, lease the same space and open their own nonprofit center called Thriving Roots Childcare three weeks later.
