The route follows Chef Menteur Hwy out of New Orleans all the way to Fort Pike and takes Old Spanish Trail Rd, eventually ending up on the Tammany Trace. The route leaves the trace and connects to Hwy 190 to Hwy 22E. From there, it connects to Old US 51 back to New Orleans

Highly recommend going on a bike ride today and every day. One of my favorite routes in Louisiana is the 153-mile trek around Lake Pontchartrain. There are great views of coastal marsh and shorebirds. Two years ago I raced around the lake with a couple of hundred other cyclists
