I travelled to Belfast today to attend the Royal Irish Regiment’s remembrance service at Belfast Cathedral representing the UK Government.

After the service it was good to speak with the Deputy First Minister about defence being an engine for growth in Northern Ireland too.

This afternoon I hosted a roundtable discussion at Devonport Markethall alongside Cllr Bill Stevens and Cllr Mark Coker about how we can engage local residents on spending the £20million pride in place funding I secured for Mount Wise, Morice Town and Devonport.

Yesterday we signed a £8billion deal with Türkiye for 20 Typhoon fighter jets.

This morning I’m the Government spokesperson on the morning round talking about the biggest fighter jet deal in 20 years.

Today the second phase of Armada Way opens today.

For me, this project isn’t just about nicer pavements.

It’s all about being the catalyst for the regeneration of the city centre with 10,000 new homes, a new health village and getting the buzz back into the city centre.

This week I visited Bolton to announce a new £118m contract to double the UK’s deployable Sky Sabre air defence systems.

This investment will protect our armed forces and the UK homeland, support 140 jobs, and reinforces Defence spending as an engine for growth. 🇬🇧

Interest rates have now been cut five times in a row since Labour was elected in July last year.

Labour is returning stability to the UK economy. 🌹🇬🇧

Councillors, me and bin bags

Joined Devonport Councillors Anne Freeman and Bill Stevens at Pottery Quay for their annual summer beach clean. Huge community response and so many bags of rubbish collected.

There’s such a strong community spirit at Pottery Quay and they’ve got a clean beach again! Well done.

Really enjoyed visiting the Keyham Green Places open day today and opening the Keyham Story Shed that is a new place for local people to find children’s books.

Good to catch up with Plymouth Hockey Club also at the open day today.

It’s day two of my summer school at @PlymUni.

Today we are teaching the young people about the skills needed to build their own campaign against the theme of making Plymouth better.
