💡 This suggests that abnormal troponin T behaviour leads to hyper-contractility – and opens the door to potential treatments targeting this overactivity. (4/5)

🔬 Our findings show that these variants change how troponin T1 protein is expressed and modified, making muscle fibres more sensitive to calcium and the thin filaments more compliant. (3/5)

🧬 We investigated how pathogenic variants in the TNNT1 gene disrupt skeletal muscle function in nemaline myopathy, causing skeletal muscle weakness/contractures. No therapeutic treatment exists. (2/5)
