yeah bluesky kickstarted a pretty decent community, but it is a far cry from the mainstream "everyone is here" feeling that people chase in a social media. twitter only blew up because it had no existing competition during its growth. bluesky has a ton of competition while still in its growing phase
theres also the issue of followers leaving because theres no true algorithm option, ive noticed most of my following is inactive accounts
ik its the whole selling point. but if bluesky is ever going to grow it needs its new users to not feel "this is empty and boring" as a first impression
on bluesky, follower count is everything to your engagement because they actually get shown your posts. its a more consistant platform
the unfortunate thing is 90% of people will start a bluesky and quit before they get even 5% of their original twitter following. so they just write it off
