Last year I submitted a short story to a competition. The prompt was "a light in the darkness" and I felt really inspired. I didn't make it past round two, but I worked on the story some more and ended up submitting it to a publication that picked it up 😊

This almost happened to me last year as well! It was down to the wire, I was already at the event setting up my booth when the books arrived at my house almost an hour's drive away.
