Members of the #UniGR_CBS from Germany, France, and Luxembourg organised a panel at the #BRIT2025 conference in Cyprus.

They brought together #CulturalStudies, #ComplexityThinking and #BorderStudies as well as entangled methodologies.

During a side meeting of a #UniGR_CBS seminar, the bordertextures working group stated an
increasing use of the #bordertextures approach in #CulturalBorderStudies and will in 2024 capture &
systematize the various (inter)disciplinary appropriations of the approach. (13/11/2023)

During the @UniGR_CBS seminar “Borders In Crisis”, the scholars of the WG #Bordertextures welcomed new group members from the #GreaterRegion and discussed the 2023 working program.

One of the first panels of the #ABSworld2023 was the #UniGR_CBS panel on the textured character of #borders – the speakers discussed the role of cultural representations in bordering and border research processes | #bordertextures

The concept of #bordertextures is inspired by the Iroquois wampum belt, a band made of rows of beads woven together, which serves as a contractual document of the Iroquois living
between the fronts of the colonial powers. #CulturalBorderStudies

There was a very fruitful discussion on 18/05/2021 about the empirical role and conceptual place of nonhuman actors in #bordertextures with Larissa Fleischmann, who spoke in the #AtelierBordertextures about the interrelationship of humans, animals, #viruses, objects, technologies, and #borders.
