I'm so heartbroken that the team that took Let It Die over from Suda51 just tanked the sequels and doubled down on GenAI. That was such a sick game.

Fun fact, I've played this literally every day since this post and it's probably my most played game this year? It's really extremely good.

Yomi House is a crazy part of GA FGC History.

Possibly the shadiest location in Atlanta I've ever been to in a long time. It looked like a torn down shed with a single outdoor light hidden behind some uhaul trucks meanwhile the inside was a tricked out esports house. Yes, it laundering/drugs.

Got a great story with him too. Went up to try Fantasy Strike at NCR and he while he demo'd it for me he sat there and waited for me to pick my character, then hard counterpicked me with a character that had an instant full combo projectile counter, and just laughed as he made me watch full bnbs.

Yomi went on for quite a while after Giancarlo got busted.

I remember occasionally attending events at their venue, and once when staying a bit late to help with some tech stuff was just straight-up told by a regular (tenant?) "don't get roped into sticking around."

There's this real clear pipeline I've been seeing, from people deciding it was okay to play CotW to defending the Saudi Evo stuff.

It's real interesting, seeing how someone getting lightly invested into a moral standpoint has to shift more and more when that same moral dilemma gets bigger in scale.

I guess if anybody is more curious about it, it was called YOMI, and for like a year, every MKX Top 8 was 6/7 YOMI players and SonicFox.

Proud to have been the #1 YOMI hater, even if I got so much backlash for it. The owner even physically threatened me right before one EVO, told me I shouldn't go.

When like 90% of the top players at the time were roped into it, the public narrative shifted to not look so bad, plus it honestly just seems so absurd that it couldn't be true, haha.
