Tile Tracking Tags Can Be Exploited by Tech-Savvy Stalkers, Researchers Say A team of researchers found that, by not encrypting the data broadcast by Tile tags, users could be vulnerable to having their location information exposed to malicious actors.

- Unencrypted IDs enable tracking
- Data may allow mass surveillance
- Anti-stalking tools easily bypassed

Under his leadership, the school has seen tremendous growth in every area from personnel hiring to academic programs. Tomorrow, Regents’ Professor Mustaque Ahamad will take the reigns as interim chair until a new chair is hired.

Today is Dr. Michael Bailey’s last day as chair, but it’s not goodbye! He will be staying on as a professor and will teach CS 8803 Online Trust and Safety and CS 6250 Computer Networks this fall at Georgia Tech Europe.

What are the security risks for decentralized currency? That's what Computer Science Ph.D. student Mingyi Liu and her colleagues set out to determine when they surveyed nearly 500 crypto investors to identify common mistakes among traders. A lack of transparency makes it nearly impossible to conduct a "postmortem" when these systems cause self driving cars to crash or cripple websites that have integrated AI tools. Or, at least it used to! Check out their piece here: lnkd.in/gzZmeJ5K

From the article: "AI systems can malfunction due to technical design flaws or biased training data. They can also suffer from vulnerabilities in their code, which can be exploited by malicious hackers. Isolating the cause of an AI failure is imperative for fixing the system."
