Labour Government Delivers Historic Win for Renters as the Rentersโ€™ Rights Bill Becomesย Law The Labour Government has this week delivered on a cornerstone promise to Britainโ€™s renters, as the Rentersโ€™ Rights Bill officially becomes law โ€” ushering in a new era of fairness, security and dignity for millions of people who rent their homes across the UK. For too long, renters have faced insecurity, poor conditions, and the constant threat of unfair eviction. As of this week, that all changes.

Peter Lamb welcomes Labourโ€™s historic plan to create 45,000 clean energy jobs in the Southย East Peter Lamb has today welcomed plans for a clean energy jobs boom in the South East which is set to create 45,000 jobs. Labourโ€™s Clean Energy Jobs Plan shows how demand for clean energy workers is set to soar thanks to the governmentโ€™s historic investment in clean energy. The first-of-a-kind plan shows how key trades such as plumbing, welding and electrification stand to benefit, with trade unions playing a major role.

Local MP Peter Lamb calls for Crawley residents to have their say on relaxing licencingย hours For years, red tape has made it harder for pubs to serve food outside, host live music, or even stay open, with some historic venues forced to shut over noise complaints or outdated advertising rules. Now Peter Lamb is backing a four-week Call for Evidence to give people in Crawley the chance to help fix it. Whether itโ€™s enjoying a pint with friends while listening to a local band, grabbing a bite from a pop-up food stall, or taking part in a community quiz night, these changes could make it easier for pubs and bars to offer the kind of experiences people love.

Peter Lamb MP delighted by the return of Sure Start-style services in Westย Sussex After years spent campaigning against the loss of Sure Start services from the town, Crawleyโ€™s MP is celebrating the return of Sure Start style services to the area. The loss of Sure Start left thousands of parents cut off from vital community support networks and specialist services โ€“ left to navigate the challenges of parenthood alone โ€“ as well as having a devastating impact on childrenโ€™s life chances, with early development, wellbeing and future attainment all in jeopardy.

Amateur boxing clubs play a vital role helping young people stay on the straight and narrow, supporting physical fitness and developing UK champions of the future. With clubs often struggling with financial viability, I asked the Secretary of State what support can be offered to grassroots boxing.

Having inherited a housing crisis, I'm relieved Crawley will be seeing an extra ยฃ423k from the Government to help deal with local homelessness pressures.

That's on top of the national ยฃ1bn new spend on new temporary housing and the ยฃ39bn for new social and affordable housing.

The removal of voices from the frontbench representing the majority of the party and PLP was unfortunate.

Without hearing those voices behind closed doors, public division and rebellion becomes far more likely.

I've voted for Lucy to ensure every part of the movement is heard.

Meeting with venues over recent weeks the challenges facing hospitality are clear.

There are local things we can do to help and nationally I'm seeking business rate and VAT changes, but the greater licensing flexibility announced this week is an improvement.

Deeply concerned by the attack on the mosque in Peacehaven. Given the proximity to Crawley, I'm looking to meet with local faith leaders, police, and the council this week to discuss what has happened and what can be done to address the hatred and ensure local religious communities are kept safe.

The Manchester synagogueย attack On Thursday, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar, we witnessed the most overt demonstration of the return of antisemitism to a country whose massacre of its Jewish population 835 years ago saw the first use of the term 'holocaust'. The circumstances leading up to the terror attack are still unclear, but what is not in doubt is the bravery of those who ran to bar the attacker's entry into the synagogue, the lasting impact upon those injured or killed in the attack and their families, or the horror now being felt by our fellow citizens in the Jewish community at seeing their worst fears realised, and wondering what might follow in its wake.
