“Inner sanctum”? Does the mayor have a fortress of solitude? Donald Trump is just too stupid for words.

Operationally, everything they are doing is antithetical to their stated mission. If they are capturing violent offenders, it is by accident. If the criminals are as they say, rolling loud into a community is going to force them underground. Criminals are stupid, but they’re not STUPID.

If ICE were ACTUALLY doing what they claim (deporting undocumented people guilty of violent crime), they could do so with broad cooperation with local authorities. Police could ensure civil liberties are protected and aid in identification and capture. It would be slow and methodical. It is neither.

“Don’t look at this burning dumpster full of shit-filled diapers, focus on this sewer backing up into your kitchen.”

That is what it means for Trump to try to shift focus from Epstein and ICE to the state of the economy.

I’m all for pointing out the blinding hypocrisy of the right, but let’s not do so my comparing apples to giraffes. Those two morons are huge pieces of shit, BUT they were in their front yard. The protest came to them, they didn’t go to the protest with their guns. Rittenhouse is a better analogue.

The day before the inauguration I was sullen and my wife asked what was wrong. I told her I was just trying to enjoy the feeling of relative freedom in a democracy before it ended. She knew I wasn’t being dramatic, and while everything that has happened has shocked me, hasn’t been surprising.

I NEVER carry a gun, but I own 3. However, if ICE were operating in my town the way they are in Minneapolis, I absolutely would carry everyday.

Also, IF YOU DO blame video games or other media, you dangerously distract from the real problem. Correlation is not causation, and that fallacy has lead to some truly stupid laws and social movements.

JFC, it’s not my game. I’m not defending video games or anything else. I’m just trying to get people to realize this is a HUMAN issue, not a god damned media issue. Calm down. You weren’t being attacked and I wasn’t protecting something I cherish. I was sharing knowledge and perspective.

Yeah. Sociopaths don’t see the separation between a video game and reality. Cognitively they know they are not the same, but the only things preventing them from acting out game action in real life are laws and consequences. They aren’t restricted by morality or human empathy.

You could take away all the media you want. You could isolate these men in a utopian sanctuary. You could fulfill all their wants and needs and STILL they would be reactionary, callous, and violent.

Good and or sane people aren’t inspired to violence by games, movies, or music.

Their referencing a game and thinking it is “cool” is an indictment of their mental health, not the media they consume. At its base level, we are talking about sociopathy here. Couple that with an average to below average IQ and you get the kind of overtly male and blundering violent behavior we see

I’m saying these type of people have always existed. Yes they have clearly taken some influences from video games and other things, but that isn’t the cause of their amoral behavior. Millions of others have been exposed to the same things and not callously murdered people in the street.

I think I’m going to end up in the kind of active conflict I barely avoided after 9/11.

And the average person spends a huge amount of their day looking at a screen or some kind. It shouldn’t be that way in the car as well. I don’t want to feel like I’m driving an Apple Store.

OH THIS! THIS RIGHT HERE! I am RIGHT NOW in the process of getting rid of my 2019 truck and replacing it with an 84 square body. I will then get another 80’s car to daily drive when I don’t need the truck. You know what won’t happen to those cars? They won’t break down because a screen doesn’t work.

I was RIGHT THERE ready to go on 9/11 (my sophomore year). Thankfully a friend of mine that was an ARMY Ranger at the time flat out told me he would break my legs if I tried to go. He said “you’re too big and too smart. They’ll give you a huge gun and put you in charge just enough to get you killed”

And WHY did they take the kids and deported their parents? Why do such a heinous and disgusting act? Well, by their own admission, to dissuade others from coming. They ruined the lives of whole families to stop brown people from coming here. And they were proud of this.They saw nothing wrong with it

You cannot underestimate conservative’s capacity for harm or their utter lack of empathy. They are unmoved by the trauma they cause. Remember, in the 1st term, they kidnapped 500 children and deported their parents. We did not reunite them all, and still all have trauma that will never heal.
