The Link Between Leadership and Employee Behavior - Dr. Kathy Allen How mindless obedience or sleepwalking at work impacts leadership and employee behavior, and ways to initiate a shift in mindset.

Continuing my series on "sleepwalking" at work, I explore the link between how we define leadership and the relationships in our organizations. Those relationships can either engage employees or make them tune out. https://bit.ly/464QynN

This is a great example of why the old paradigm of treating organizations as machines and people within them as cogs is deeply outdated. Leadership that prioritizes flow state, values employees' input on the tasks they perform, and respects individual needs is the way forward.

Often, when employees sleepwalk at work, it's because our leadership habits have encouraged them to just "go through the motions."

The High Price of Sleepwalking at Work - Dr. Kathy Allen Learn how the cost of employees sleepwalking at work takes a significant toll on leaders and the entire organization.

There's a myth in leadership that things would be easiest if employees followed directions without questioning, resisting, or thinking for themselves. But encouraging employees to sleepwalkβ€”just go through the motionsβ€”comes at a cost.

Regular check-ins also give employees the opportunity to ask questions, contribute insights, and raise concerns. Healthy organizations are like living systems, and no living system could survive without communication.

Cultivating a Future-fit Organization amid Rising Complexity With so much change in the air, what’s the best way to cultivate organizations that succeed amid rising complexity? This IS the question of the moment. As when we cultivate future-fit organizations, we allow our places of work to come alive and our people to thrive.

When we treat organizations like machines, we remain in mindsets of control and hierarchy.

Humans are a part of Nature, and we need to reflect that in our organizations. Giles Hutchins offers an excellent visual representation of this mindset shift: https://bit.ly/45SRtrc

Regenerative Leadership: What the World Needs Now – REGENERATION JOURNAL In thistime of permacrisisβ€”where climate breakdown, economic inequality, democratic erosion, cultural fragmentation, and war crimes convergeβ€”we recognize that the systems and leaders governing our lives are failing to serve people and planet. The pursuit of narrow, extractive self-interest has corrupted our institutions, deepened divisions, and eroded trust. We stand at a crossroads: continue down the path of collapseorregeneratethis world we share – our Common Home.

#Regenerative leadership is difficult to define. It isn't a single framework, but a living, evolving practice.

This article in the Regeneration Journal ia great overview framing leadership as stewardship that's not ego-driven but "eco-system aware." I love that term! https://bit.ly/4jnicPG
