i for one used Digital Ocean for many years without issue before i had to leave due to sanctions. but i also didn't store much on there.

which ones you looked at? main thing about your own site is that it is actually your own and you can move it at any time to any hosting provider. you're not locked in when you set up shop.

i'm not sure what's the problem, generally hosting providers have no strict content policies besides "don't do illegal shit".
