One of my all time favorites.
As a cranky GenX, I'm genuinely resentful about how many times in my life I've woken up to news of some US-based fresh hell in the Middle East.

Highly recommend Lindsey Firzharris's "The Butchering Art" for the history of germ theory and sanitation, pre-antibiotics.

Honestly kind of impressed by the lady at BD Riley's asking their server, with a straight face and all sincerity, "Do you have Guinness on draft here?"
my sincerest hope is that someone has sent this to Little Alex Horne who i think would get a huge kick out of it
Today I had about 1/4lb brisket from La Barbecue. Used a big shallot instead of an onion and cooked it some beef tallow. Chopped up half a dozen leftover roasted new potatoes from a different dinner, used some of my freezer stock cube stash. Didn't have a bell pepper, but whatever. It was awesome.
Lower heat to medium and cook undisturbed until liquid is evaporated and bottom of the hash is browned. Serve with plenty of pepper and hot sauce. Soft boiled or sunny side egg optional.
cut into 1/4" cubes the brisket 1 onion, 1 red or orange bell pepper, cooked potato in roughly the same amount as the onions. Over medium high, cook onions in your choice of fat, then add potato, then brisket, then pepper. Add a glug of good stock or broth, just enough to moisten w/o being soupy.
I only like going to the super popular bbq joints so that I can take home a half pound of leftover brisket and make hash with it a couple days later.

Had never heard of them before this season of Peacemaker and now I'm a fan. Amazing stuff.
Film scene idea free to good home: "chase/shootout in the club" action movie scene, but instead of a bunch of hot young people dancing, it's an Autechre show full of middle aged dudes standing solemnly in the dark, arms folded, nodding thoughtfully.
I have seen it! It's a fascinating ride.

B) actually a Mechanical Turk type situation and it's actually the Muskrat himself just flapping his id again
