People in Alligator Auschwitz describe the inhumane conditions in the concentration camp—insufficient water, scarce and unsanitary food, lack of medicine, denial of religious rights, etc.

“They're not respecting our human rights. We're human beings—we're not dogs. We're like rats in an experiment."

AOC: When they say illegal vs legal immigration—they are trying to end legal status in the US making people undocumented and then they have the audacity to call them illegal when they were here documented.

I recognize this is an exceedingly difficult time and for many of you this is a crisis on several levels. I respect those challenges and I don't consider press rights superior to the rights of others. However, all other rights depend on press rights. We cannot allow them to be chilled. Democracy cannot function without an informed public. The public cannot be informed without a free press. It is your shared responsibility to ensure press are able to do their job. Dozens of journalists were assaulted by law enforcement in Los Angeles this weekend.

The press were just doing their job -- a sacred one explicitly protected by law.

Press rights orgs will follow up collectively tomorrow.

This language--"L.A. Immigration Protests and the Federal Response"--suggests that it was "immigration protests" that set off a "federal response." But this gets it backward: at every turn, the Trump administration has been the aggressor and the instigator. www.nytimes.com/interactive/...

The people are peaceful. Law enforcement is doing the escalating. Intentionally. This has always been Trump’s plan.

Trump's budget cuts:

-$4.5B from programs for students in high-poverty schools
-$49M from the Ed Dept's civil rights office
-$26B from state rental assistance
-$4B from low-income home energy assistance
-$20B+ from the CDC and NIH

All to give the rich another tax cut.

The wannabe dictator wants a party? Well then, let's show him some "love”. On June 14th, Trump is spending millions of taxpayer $$$ to throw himself a military parade for his birthday. Ricardo Prada Vásquez, a Venezuelan immigrant and delivery worker, was detained while attempting to re-enter the U.S. after accidentally taking a wrong turn into Canada. He does not appear on any lists and his family and friends have no idea of his whereabouts. He has essentially disappeared.

Today, the House Ag Committee held a hearing on the Trump Administration’s plans to cut $230 *billion* from SNAP.

My Republican colleagues accused us of fear-mongering. Here’s the reality: To pass their insane budget, SNAP benefits would have to be cut.

The American people deserve the truth.
