Suddenly, 2.5% is not nearly enough.

πΉ& π Labour MP staffer. The internet was a terrible mistake.
Suddenly, 2.5% is not nearly enough.
28.02.2025 19:30 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0George (as so often) absolutely bang on the money here. We are still talking in the language of a world that has now died - being a bridge between US and EU etc etc. We are in a very different world now, and we have to be awake to that.
21.02.2025 14:44 β π 4 π 1 π¬ 0 π 01. European and UK ministers are still talking as if their biggest potential security problem is a withdrawal of US support. But that is not their biggest potential security problem. Itβs that, under Trump, the US will back Putin not just diplomatically but also militarily. π§΅
21.02.2025 14:14 β π 1442 π 519 π¬ 109 π 64Oh what's that? The great British patriot Nigel Farage on an American stage talking shit about our country again? Cool
21.02.2025 14:07 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Elon Musk is starting to risk getting Jess Phillips killed. She's been safeguarding minister for six months. She oversaw nothing relating to the rape gangs. As an opposition MP she was one of the most prominent campaigners for the victims.
What he's doing is a travesty.
So hard to completely abandon "the other place", where it still feels like most of the interesting political discourse is happening.
But surely now it's time that all politicians, journos and news orgs leave? If backing Tommy Robinson isn't the last straw then what is?
Lou resigning is such a massive blow to the government. She was well placed to be the best transport secretary in generations. Loads of respect for her and wish her well.

22.11.2024 14:00 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0John Prescott was a politician both behind and ahead of his time. Considered too bluff and old Labour to reach to the very top in the 90s, today his authenticity and class credentials would have been perfect to fight Farage and populism. Labour needs more like him.
21.11.2024 09:31 β π 4946 π 641 π¬ 192 π 62A word on the Allison Pearson free speech row, and what she describes as a βKafkaesqueβ threat to it. We asked her on @thenewsagents.bsky.social to discuss.
She said: βNo. And if you get any aspect of the story wrong my lawyers will be watching.β
Gotta love a free speech warrior π€·π»ββοΈ

Let's keep building up a lovely Labour family on the butterfly app before all the nobheads find us and ruin it again!

ACTUAL OFFICIAL strongest staffer @joeeaton.bsky.social

Sonia Sodha, "I think we should be looking at Trump's cabinet and asking: what does this mean for our place in the world?"
"We should be doing everything we can to build better diplomatic and economic ties with the EU"
"Because we cannot rely on president Trump to offer us a favoured trade deal"
This is the absolute dream and one of those totemic "this is why Labour is different" policies we've all been craving to sell on the doorstep πππ

WE'LL SOON CHANGE THAT.
This is great, thank you!
