"Women in the labour movement have always pushed for better — from safer jobs and fair wages to universal childcare and pay equity. And we’re not done yet.

"Today we celebrate the progress we have made and recommit to the work ahead. When women rise, we all rise."

This is going to be an amazing, inspiring afternoon. Join @susibcfed.bsky.social at 3 pm on Oct. 5 on SFU's Surrey Campus as we look at the extraordinary protests that united farmers and unions — and forced the Modi government in India to back down.

Stores don’t open and communities don’t function without the labour that working people provide. Buying B.C. starts with investing in the people who create the value that drives our economy.

Opinion: Buying B.C. starts with investing in workers Labour market outlook projects a need for 668,700 workers over the next decade with at least some post-secondary or apprenticeship training

Workers are the engine of our economy. Without us, nothing gets done: no services delivered, no products made, no resources processed.

“There has to be some accountability on the government’s part, for misusing and overusing it, but also for swooping in so fast on these workers who wanted a fair deal.”As Air Canada Strike Ends, Ottawa Accused of Anti-Union Bias via @thetyee.ca

Skidmore said she’s hoping the federal government ceases its “heavy-handed” approach to ending labour disputes.

“Why would any employer bargain in good faith when they know that the government is going to swoop in and bail them out?” she said.

Today we rallied with CUPE workers to demand fairness for Air Canada flight attendants. ✈️ Workers deserve a collective agreement — not Section 107 interference.

This is a working-class fight against corporate greed.

BREAKING: Jobs minister orders Air Canada flight attendants back to work Air Canada flight attendants have officially begun their strike after failing to reach a deal with the airline, the Canadian Union of Public Employees announced Saturday morning.

Reminder that the strike is about a women-dominated workforce doing unpaid labour while executives get huge bonuses. Carney's Liberals are exactly who we warned they were.

This is shameful the liberal government is not and has never been a worker friendly government and the minister should be ashamed of herself!

Giving into greedy corporations on the backs of workers is disgusting !
