The AU and the UN need to finally step in, as per article 4(h) and the Responsibility to Protect.

This will further prolong the war in Sudan and worsen the brewing conflict in South Sudan.
War is coming again to #SouthSudan, and the war in #Sudan already has a direct bearing on it.
It may have been one of the triggers, but one can also expect Kiir to align more closely with the #RSF, and Machar's #SPLM-IO to seek closer ties with Burhan's #SAF.
Away from the spotlight, a brutalized society on the brink, once again.

A recent South Sudanese recognition of the 2013 referendum in #Abyei, making the region part of the South, likely will strain relations further.
