My point is that police can get a handle on a situation without shooting and killing anyone. They have tasers, they can call for back-up. There are a ton of ways to apprehend someone that doesn't require pulling out a gun and shooting someone to death. So 1,000 deaths/yr is unnecessary 1/

Fatal shootings from the police in England is about 0 to 6 a year. England has a population of about 60 million people. 100 Metro Police officers were killed in the line of duty in the UK between 2020 and 2024, and those were mostly vehicle collisions. So I'm not sure what you're justifying
