Once you've got batteries/vehicles that can handle the charge rates, scaling up the charging stations is fairly cheap. The hard bit with fast charging is not exploding, and that's mostly on the battery/vehicle side.

Eh...the rail trails around here a busy and are posted w/ a 15mph limit. And when there's a good smattering of pedestrians on the trail, you're not getting much over 15 if you're being safe around others...
