So if I've done the math right, the fascists in the government are arguing that it's illegal to make fascists afraid, so being opposed to fascism is a crime.

The Target boycott is not over because Target hasn't addressed the cause. Betrayal of DEI values requires significant, tangible, heartfelt, passionate embrace of DEI values and assurance the embrace will last by making structural changes. That takes time. An announcement isn't enough.

A group of cyclists moves through an intersection in Homewood, Illinois.

A reminder to anyone who is stressing over the possibility that Trump War will result in the need to take out a loan to fill up your gas tank, now might be a good time to invest in gasless mobility technologies. (Bikes.)

I am announcing that I am taking myself out of the running for the secretary of the Department of Homeland Security position. Upon reflection, I realized I am completely unqualified for the job. Unfortunately, I'm much more qualified than Markwayne Mullin. Oh dear.

Quote 2 of the day:
"Every single AI story is crazier than the last. ... It’s not often you see a private company ask for their product to be used more carefully and ethically, but Pete Hegseth wants AI to be able to autonomously select human targets? Hasn’t he heard of Skynet?"

Target's new CEO says fresh eyes and respecting core values will help him regain customer trust Target plans to spend billions of dollars this year to end a persistent sales slump and to regain its image as a fun place to shop for stylish clothing, housewares, beauty products and packaged food a...

Used to shop at Target weekly. Haven't set foot in the store since the DEI betrayal. Based on this interview, the boycott is still on, full force. New CEO wants to win back trust with wishy-washy corporate-speak. Not persuasive. bit.ly/4smXBA6

Sri Lanka evacuates over 200 crew members of second Iranian vessel More than 200 crew members evacuated, a day after a US submarine sank an Iranian frigate, leaving 87 sailors dead.

After blowing up defenseless boats in Venezuela, the U.S. turns to hitting a defenseless Iranian frigate in international waters. Pete Hegseth is still committing war crimes and crowing about it. Vile.

What's the most common goal of villains everywhere in movies, books, podcasts, reality? World domination. What does Trump want? Greenland. Canada. Panama. Venezuela. Cuba. Mexico. Iran. Hmmm.

"Crises precipitate change. ... The world would be a better place without Vladimir Putin or Elon Musk or Donald Trump in it. But ... they transform slow-moving crises that are too gradual to galvanize action into emergencies that can’t be ignored."

Karoline Leavitt says the Iranian regime "uses propaganda quite effectively, and unfortunately, many people in this room have fallen for that propaganda."

In other words, don't fall for their propaganda. Fall for our propaganda.

Reporters: From now on, the first question to ask all candidates for any elected office in this country must be "Have you read and do you understand the Constitution?" No second question if they can't answer that one persuasively.

Can we refer to it as the U.S. war on Iran? Iran didn't start it.

Ain't it always the way. In my area, we need funding for infrastructure, affordable housing, economic development. Bombing Iran is prioritizing death and destruction over the needs of the living. Again.

American exceptionalism is the belief that reality does not apply to U.S. actions. Remember the Bush staffer who said, "We're an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality." Remember Rumsfeld? Remember shock and awe? Apparently not. Dude, real reality always wins.

What's next? If someone enters federal prison with a heart condition are they going to say, "Well, we'll just remove your heart. That'll solve the problem." Same logic.

I think reporters might have misheard Trump when he announced his new organization recently. Bored of Peace is what he said, not Board of Peace. Get him to spell it out next time, OK?
