As my arthritis worsens I'm increasingly aware of the need to not just future proof but current proof too!

5. Watched people swinging off a very tall building (intentionally) and was thrilled I didn't have to!

Here's something I'm considering at the moment.. if you were going to move house (and live there for a decade or so) what would you be hoping for from the dwelling and the locale? (I have arthritis, so I have specifics around access, but I'm wondering what folk think are dealbreakers in a place?)

I've read some really interesting replies - new families, first Xmases etc and folk who have to replace a bigger item (lights?) Or who buy greenery. So I'm beginning to get it, and also, I'm still bemused!

I guess that must be it. There are a lot of decs in our local charity shops (thrift/goodwilll shops) and the same thing I read said something like 500000 tons of decs and other Christmas stuff gets trashed each year too

Just saw a headline that says the average household in the UK spends £185 on Christmas decorations each year. What. The. Actual. Fuck? £185. I'm glad I was sitting down when I read it
