And now he stands in front of the gate in a chainlink fence covering the perimeter of this abandoned airfield. Hoping that he would be able to sneak past it without getting into any trouble and be on his way to the factory where Auto Anton waits for that USB drive to be delivered.

Not wanting to play a hero, Ox has jumped behind a corner of a building hoping that he was not spotted.
Luck was on his side this time.

The rest of his journey to the tower currently hosting Office for Efficiency - a heartless corporate faction - was thankfully uneventful.

The smoke cleared soon and they went their own ways. Minutes later mean cheerful shouting had pulled Ox from his melancholy.
He turned to only see with a side of the eye her escaping from an ambush set by no less than four ratlins(humanoid rat-like species) with crudely made spears.

After a standoff that could have turned into a tragedy. She seemingly decided that Ox is no threat to that and lowered her weapon.
They have shared the warmth of a campfire and what little food they both had. But had not shared a conversation. And Ox has for the first time truly missed his tea set.

Ox wasn't the only one to have this idea. A few hours in, another traveler entered the building - a young woman in kitted with hunting gear from head to toes - her face a mask of hate towards the cruel world.

He needs a break and the wind was changing again bringing with it whiffs of that putrid smog. Ox broke into the most intact looking building around here - which happened to be animal stalls long vacant of its inhabitants - and settled to wait it over.

He ran as far as he could without making a stop. And only slowed down when he felt that he had run far enough. The landmark he has been orienting himself by - a brutalist tower on an edge of an abandoned military base - was hanging above him, even though he knew it to be still hours away.

That's where luck has left Ox. Right at the exit of the tunnel scuttling muscular vines waited to grab anything passing them by.
After a short scuffle Ox was able to escape basically untouched, his hemp cloak protecting him from the worst.
The only casualty of the fight - his precious tea set.

In a bit of luck he stumbled into two friendly Free Android Militia drones.
They warned him to not take the highway as that's where something deadly attacked them and had destroyed their giant recycling drone.
And have suggested using an underground maintenance tunnel to go around the threat.

The next day he woke up coughing from a horridly smelling smog covering all around, making it impossible to see anything further than a meter. It got even worse as he travelled south and the air became unbearably humid. "Someone has set on turning this planet into a sauna" he thought to himself.

To recap that journey it started with Ox going to sleep in one of the ruins on an empty stomach after failing to find anything to eat. (I forgot to note supplies when creating a character but I will justify it narratively as there was no time to grab anything when the trash dragon attacked).

Another thing I have read(played?) today and found enjoyable is this "chose your own adventure" book I have bought in Diesels store in #over/under.

Spoilers: the story ended with me fainting.

Don't think I want to replay it as I wouldn't do anything differently.

I have read through a PDF of this module today and it's great. I didn't know that I had an itch for The Thing inspired module but it for sure scratches it.

Also having to repair a ship during all the hiatus going around sounds like a great lot of fun.

I believe it's edited or modded. Like the style of the buttons are for sure Fallout 1-2.
I don't think there where this style of prompts at all, from what I remember these types of actions would be initiated from the dialogue not from a separate menu.

I was expecting this first job to be a footnote in my character adventures.
You know getting the USB delivered and then finding a real quest to go on.
Now I realise that the journey to that factory might be a full blown adventure in itself. Like the adventure that Ox might not survive himself.

I had a longer session today. And I have to tell you I didn't expect how long it takes to travel in this game.
I played for ~ two hours and that's how long it took me to just get to the next location.

This is such a nice write up. I enjoyed reading it a lot. A little trip down a memory lane to fill in that O/U shaped hole. Thank you!

Not wanting to pick up the fight I have decided to take a roundabout through the Office for Efficiency(another corporate faction). And I have headed south.

Then I have decided to go directly to my goal - east over a crumbling bridge. Just to be stopped immediately by a hostile corporate private military type guarding the bridge.

I had a lot of fun generating overall map and locations. Even though it was a bit confusing at the start. There are just too many tables.

So far it's going fine.

My character is a Tea Monk and he has a job delivering a USB with a copy of a billionaire's brain to Auto Anton
- a war robot.
I know it sounds bad, but Ox(my character) is desperate after the House Boat settlement he was living in got burned down by a Trash Dragon.

A colleague from work asked me to print some dice shaped world globes. So I have been making these the whole week. My favourites are the red ones because they are squishy.

And then reading A Pound of Flesh a few weeks after that I couldn't shake the feeling that "going cheap" could very much have grown into the Prospero's Dream language.

More than a month ago I played a game of Dialect and we have coined a term "gone cheap" as a word replacing "died". One of the touchstones we had was "money can buy anything". And "going cheap" just fit so well with that flavour of dystopian corporate backed Mars habitat.

Also I did draw my own "totally original" headshot of Andy. And I'm happy with it.

And hey, I might not have gotten a line for 🩸 Headshot 🩸by amazing @d20plusmodifier.bsky.social. But Andy had escaped on his ship and witnessed a beautiful love story. And what can be better than that.
