Agreed. STAR WARS' reception and subsequent enthusiasm is the closest thing I can think of to Beatlemania. There really hasn't been anything like it since. Maybe the excitement around the early HARRY POTTER books. Maybe.

I saw an advanced screening of EMPIRE STRIKES BACK when it first came out, and every single returning character got applause when they appeared onscreen for the first time.

I liked the first season or two, but the characters quickly became insufferable and impossible to empathize with.

In that Paul & Jamie are basically likable, as is the supporting cast. Plus: Murray.

It is very, very ‘90s, but in kind of a good way.
