Nice. I was a printer in college but we also had high speed copiers. A lot of market research firms would come in and have us print copies of their surveys for their clients. They would NEVER get 10,000 submissions and had us make extra copies “of the positive answers” which was so shady.

I worked in advertising for 30 years. I was EVP of one of the largest agencies in the US. Using identical language to a competitor was frowned upon. You’d usually find another way to say the say thing.

I’m sure there is a lot of research. I just find it odd that ALL of the ad agencies choose the identical language of “$19 a month. That’s just 63¢ a day” as if they are the only ones making that claim. On HULU, I see at east four commercials on repeat every night.

Perhaps someone who works in nonprofits can help me. Every commercial lately asking for monthly support is using the identical ask: “It’s only $19 a month. That’s just 23¢ a day.”

When did every nonprofit decide that was the magic amount. I’m not judging; just curious.

I saw them in Detroit for the 20th Anniversary of Mezzanine tour. They brought ALL the original members and stand-ins back for the tour. Incredible. They even did some incredible covers like The Cure’s 10:15 on a Saturday Night.

Loosely based on a photo I took of my lovely friend Keely several years ago. She was such a trooper, hiking with me through a forest to these old trees. In a snowstorm. Yes, I gave her hot tea and lit a fire after this shoot. She was really cold.

Oh, no. I don’t mean *playing* music. I mean when I dream, there is always a song going on in my dream in the background. It can be annoying.

Do any of you have Dream Soundtracks? By that, I mean, songs that play through most or all of your dreams?

I do, and 90% of the time, it’s songs I’m not into. This week, I was hit with Kumbaya, 2 church hymns, Madonna’s Midnight Hour, and Convoy.

My usual fare is Coil, Virgin Prunes, or DCD.

100%. I have an external 6TB drive, and a TimeMachine backup to Apple’s iCloud AND a redundant backup to Google Drive. Yes, it’s overboard.

I ran the digital department of a 1,800 employee ad agency. One day, one of my long-time employees told me her laptop crashed and she lost everything. I asked her when her latest backup was.

In 11 years there, she had never backed up a single file.

I know you’ve had budget cuts. But you rely heavily on software. Just an FYI, there is a big difference between “a light dusting of snow” and freezing rain topped with 6” (15.3 cm) of snow and -7°F (-13.9°C) windchills.
