This is such a special book. A big influence on me and my determination to make weirder, more niche, more indulgent work.

On the Precipice of Professional Anime Magazines: Animag In 1987 fans from the Bay Area published what was, for its time, the closest thing to a professional anime magazine in English.

Thanks to the efforts of @geraldawo.bsky.social the full run of Animag magazine can now be seen on the Internet Archive. I wrote a bit about the magazine's history and the time and place it was published: bit.ly/animag2

I'm excited to share that we've got another edition of Gender Queer on the way for next spring! This one is annotated by queer and trans authors, comics scholars, and multiple people who appear in the book as characters 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈📚

What absolutely delicious lighting! Beautiful design, and the texture of the surfaces!!! Wow! What a great piece.

Over twelve panels, they walk through the woods and open fields while Walt waxes philosophically about the myriad of colors they see in the leaves and grass, and the grandness of the outdoors.

Gasoline Alley by Frank King from October 20, 1929. Featuring one of Skeezix and Walt’s annual Autumn walks. Gasoline Alley at its best.

The painting is 11 x 14, & I used Holbein Artist's Gouache as watercolor. Lettered with posca marker. Digitally composed & added color effects to nail the mood. I really liked the quality of the ink sketch, but needed to redraw it on something that wasn't vellum to paint. Had so much fun with this.

I wanted to make something new for the anthology fanbook and I'm obsessed with this costume. The style was inspired by (early) Yun Kouga and old CLAMP Saint Seiya doujinshi.

Swallow Your Pride (NY, 1990s)

Miss Major Griffin-Gracy passed away today according to the House of GG. She was a veteran of the Stonewall rebellion and a lifelong organizer for the safety and dignity of trans people, sex workers, and the incarcerated. She came from the same generation and milieu as Marsha and Sylvia. She was 78.

Oh absolutely I'll be in Brooklyn! (I'm also going to see him in Oakland!) I've been waiting all my life for Keyland. T_T
