Today we remember the 10 people who died in the Selby rail crash at Great Heck, 25 years ago on 28 February 2001.
Six passengers and four railwaymen lost their lives in this tragedy and 80 people were seriously injured.
Today railway colleagues will be gathering in Newcastle and Selby to remember

Afterwards we laid flowers at the memorial and at 12.23pm, the time of the crash, held a minute’s silence. We remember the four men who died in the crash, the people who were injured and everyone who was touched by the tragedy.
It has been an honour to join families and survivors of the Hatfield Rail Crash in the chapel of Hatfield House for a memorial service this morning, on the 25th anniversary of the tragedy.
