The Tall Ships Races are in Aberdeen - we’re running an extra train today - at 18.15 from Aberdeen to Edinburgh - to help get everyone home!
On Sunday the extra services will be 08.10 from Edinburgh Waverley to Aberdeen and 18.15 from Aberdeen to Newcastle

I was in Edinburgh today, the city where Sir Nigel Gresley was born 149 years ago today, 19 June 1876. As Chief Mechanical Engineer of the Great Northern Railway from 1911 and the London & North Eastern Railway until 1941, this plaque at Edinburgh Waverley station commemorates his achievements.

Today is the first ever #225Day celebrating our InterCity 225 fleet. These East Coast stalwarts have carried generations over millions of miles since 1989.
To mark the occasion, we're proud to unveil that 91106 has been named 'Swallow' after the iconic InterCity emblem of grace and speed.
