It is really interesting. Cajuns also clip the grasses rather than mow the lawn. At least the old ones did in the 80s when I lived there. It may be different now that many of the ones who grew up speaking French as a first language pass on.

I don’t know. I grew up in New Orleans and we didn’t say either but some older Cajuns I knew said both. It might have to do with translating from French. Like native Spanish speakers here in Az say they drink their medicine even if in pill form.
