The Welsh slate plaque engraved in Johnston lettering that will be today, 12 November 2025, be unveiled at Sloane Square Underground station in London . It reads "In Remembrance of the thirty seven people who were killed at this station during the Blitz on the night of 12th November 1940" with the Underground roundel beneath. The events of that night, when a bomb fell through the station roof and exploded at platform level whilst a train stood at the platform is regarded as being one of the worst of many dreadful such events on the London transport system during WW2.

Today marks the anniversary of the Sloane Square Underground station disaster when, on the night of 12 November 1940, 37 passengers & staff lost their lives during the London Blitz. Today, in remembrance, London Underground unveils a plaque to their memory. #london #history
