My biggest fear regarding the Marvel Star Wars 2026 slate is how many adaptations they'll do, so I guess I'm preparing myself.

It's really a good adaptation. Jody Houser and Will Sliney are a "goated team", as they say.
And to my earlier post, the film itself also looked great, so that was never the issue. Still, they tied the Skywalker saga together visually in the comic, and that's a good feat.

One of the greatest oddities of Star Wars publishing, to me, is how the Clone Wars novelisation by Karen Traviss has never been reprinted after its hardcover run sold out (in the US, at least).

If Matthew Stover goes to the dark side, this is what he'll write.

Some episodes of Acolyte came close. But nothing has quite matched it yet.

Finished reading the ROTS novelisation. Second half definitely had more impact and worked amazingly in terms of style. My main takeaway is that I fucking love that film and yearn for Jedi-centric Star Wars to ever be that good again on-screen.

I'm glad Legacy of Vader abandoned that "let's do a museum tour of Anakin's life" approach to introduce Tava Ren.

If there's one thing I've especially noticed about this year's new Marvel Star Wars books, it's that several of them needed/had some sort of gimmick approach, especially Jedi Knights and Doctor Aphra, with their famous-character-of-the-month approaches. Those sometimes got in the way of the story.

The "Aphra's long lost sister" reveal is such a TNG Season 7 reveal that I'm struggling to stay interested, though, to be fair. However, the series to date has been great.

Segura Wars deserves to end up on the scrap pile of SW storytelling, but JK and LoV both had great and entertaining runs.

Fun how every Marvel series they launched this year is being cut short, apparently. (They haven't said anything, but their empty solicitations and weirdly rearranged TPB listings speak volumes.)

Watched The Life of Chuck today. Very wholesome, very cute, great cast.

The fun thing about the AWS outage I keep hearing about on the news had absolutely zero impact on me. Whichever services I use that might be based on them (I'm sure there are a few), I wasn't using them at the time.
