Politico quotes a Bath union leader who says he isn't sure he'll vote for Platner who notes that the majority of people he works with think Platner is "a non-working-class person’s idea of a working-class person." #mepolitics

The Politico piece also did a nice job tying Platner's candidacy to the broader political context.

At the same time, it's clear he isn't remotely from a working class family and isn't working class now. He wouldn't have his property or business without the financial help of his family. #mepolitics

I thought the most positive parts for Platner in the Politico piece was his unabashed support for universal coverage and recognition of how it would help people starting and in small businesses, and the energy and organizing of the campaign. #mepoliitics

He’s from an upper middle class+ professional family. Didn’t need $ for college. Didn’t join to support country (unlike Golden after 9/11). Opposed Iraq War but always wanted combat, so enlisted.
