Ok, Bandcamp Friday is looming. I have no new wares to plug, but my old pal Stewart Keith (nee Walden) has just quietly started a new thing and in the main it's really sweet hypnotic electronics (he'll still surprise you with a ramshackle song now and again). the-a-mess.bandcamp.com/album/anothe...
Missed this when it went out, just watched now. So many ideas and examples, super& useful, loved it!
That just reminded me that I got a new one in 1985. Cost around 100 quid then.
Guess so.
True!
Beautiful playing Newcastle again on Saturday, and a nice one for Vibracathedral to say Goodbye to the world with. Thanks everyone, it's been a blast.
Bastard mancs.
I only really clocked this one a week or 2 ago, and was looking for a reasonably priced UK seller. Might just bite the bullet and grab the Freeman Bros CD.
Def best vinyl format.
This coming Saturday...
Same here
Sister tour, saw same bill in Nottingham. Memory says everything was in the red, you could hardly hear the vocals, they tore the songs apart. Best time I ever saw them.
"Display" = infinitely more pleasant. ❤️
Ok, I give in. Not "dropping" anything, mind. Seeing SY in 1985 rewired my brain more than a little.
Culture was kinda weirder back then. I saw Virgin Prunes there a couple of years later. Totally rammed.
Looking forward to playing in Newcastle with the Vibracathedral in a couple of weeks. Been waaaaay too long since we were there.
Steve crashed on my floor in the late 90s. Real sweetheart, and I periodically return to this CD he left with me and am always completely in awe.
Side 1 of Dance is underrated af
I'm a big fan of the Michel Sampson era too. The Slugs' Saloon double disk is another mighty example and is on BC

Not sure it needs stretching and padding out to a double LP, but this is long overdue a reissue.
"Silence! Silence is a rhythm too"
(I always think of Sun Ra when I listen to that Slits tune)
Mon the swifts!
Love our swifts that nest in the eaves.
Me and a healthy crew of Leeds DIY lifers descening on Cafe OTO this Saturday sports fans!
4 solid records. Nice finds. Favourite songs = Hand Held In Black And White and Sad Song.
Persian Carpets is a peach. Wish I could be there tomorrow.
😬 Whatever gets you through the night tho
You're still on Twitter?!?
I bought my Funhouse from Selectadisc in the late 80s. You could only find pricey Canadian imports of 1st 2 Stooges LPs back then and everyone was on the dole, but def one of my smarter purchases.
Doing a little 2-date southern trip with my old pal and Vibracathedral comrade Julian in March. Saturday night in London, Sunday matinee in Brighton.
