The Pentagon has barred press photographers from briefings who published supposedly "unflattering" photos of Pete Hegseth.

For what it’s worth, I am finding that the people I follow on BlueSky are about 2 days ahead of regular with media on this crisis, and have been highly accurate. So thank you

Renters: Your landlord cannot add extra charges for bins or parking in the middle of your tenancy. I've heard multiple reports of this from constituents recently.

According to RTB, the law says this is like a rent increase. So max once a year & max 2% increase in rent. 1/2

This is hilarious.

Also, completely enraging.

An analogy:

Reducing deaths per mile driven is like reducing cancer deaths among smokers. Laudable, but an incomplete strategy.

Public health leaders strive to *reducing smoking,* not just treating smokers with cancer.

We should apply the same logic to road safety.

Oh I did, it is wonderful. I didn’t mean literally ‘everywhere’ - I just meant some, somewhere especially in Galway in the West of Ireland.

Let's see why clean energy technologies are so much more energy secure than oil.

A single solar panel (450W) costs about €100, same as a tank of petrol.

How many EV kilometres can the solar panel power compared to the tank of diesel?

Take a guess while I work it out on the back of an envelope.

Which is better?

1. Buy one tank of gas that will get you 700 km (434 miles) as you pollute the world behind you. (also your next tank may cost twice as much—you never know!) 🤷‍♂️

2. Buy one solar panel for the same cost and use it to go 65,000 km (40,390 miles) with no pollution. 🌞

Choose wisely.

These should be everywhere until drivers understand the rules of the road through regular retesting.

Saw this horror of AI in the Dun Laoghaire shopping Center today…. (zoom in around the arc of “letters” around the main greeting)

I was in a 2 hour briefing today on the Iran War. All the briefings are closed, because Trump can't defend this war in public.

I obviously can't disclose classified info, but you deserve to know how incoherent and incomplete these war plans are.

At the root of all our problems stands one travesty: politicians’ surrender to the super-rich | George Monbiot There are many excuses for failing to tax the ultra-wealthy. The truth is that governments don’t tackle the problem because they don’t want to, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

The growing need for Ukrainian interceptors to stop shahed drones in the Middle East is just a preview.

In the coming years, the West will rely heavily on Ukrainian defense innovation.

Ukraine is indispensable to our own security.

We must do more to help them defeat Russia

Vicky said her son was ‘driven the few minutes to school, is taken by car to a safe place to ride his bike and can roam no more than 300 yards from home.’ Basically, he stays on the block…he prefers the family yard to the street outside. ‘He doesn't tend to go out because the other children don't.’

Richard Curran: If there is gas off the Irish coast we’re shooting ourselves in the foot not licensing explorers to go and find it Things are bad when the British energy minister says the UK is “exposed” to rising energy prices.

Suppose it’s simply asking far too much to expect a senior RTÉ business journalist in 2026, as the #climate crisis deepens by the month, to have grasped that continuing to drill for fossils fuels is shooting ourselves in the head, never mind foot?

Iran’s people were facing a horrible shortage of water before the war began. If we are destroying desalination plants and setting fire to Teheran we are committing unfathomable crimes.

We use 30 year averages to show climatology (average weather conditions). During the 20th century the UK climatology followed a path around a confined box. With #globalwarming and #climatechange they have escaped out the box. This #dataviz shows UK rainfall and temperature.
