#Halisky I just finished designing these 8X12 posters as an homage to the commuters who walk, roll, bike and bus everywhere! Every day, thousands of commuters in the city get around without using a car.

This subject is close to my heart, as someone who doesn't own a car and commutes by ebike.

Trying to remember that picking up a part time job because my design business isn't making enough money (YET) isn't a failure...it's just that my long term goals are still long term goals.

Back in 2019, one of my first illustrations was this cosmic turtle. I had just decided I wanted to begin the long journey of making art full-time, and I sold the original to a dear friend.

I'm about to start selling stickers with this design, so I figured it was time for a redraw!

But I recognize I'm not the demographic reading the alt text I write.

It seems like from an alt text visibility standpoint, bluesky is in the lead. But I'd love to hear from the people these services impact!

I'd love to hear from blind folks: should the way bluesky incorporates alt text into its images be the standard for all social media moving forward? Are there things that could be improved?

As a sighted person, I find bluesky's alt text system smart. It's changed my own accessibility standards.
