This is good imo: “It takes work. Building things is hard. But it’s better than letting people suffer.”
We don’t give up on common sense solutions when the powerful say our problems are too intractable to solve.
People actually like to root for folks who work hard in the face of tough odds!

If you can’t count on a dot gov website having an accurate copy of the constitution, then I’m not sure who you count on.
There’s now a banner saying they are fixing their “data issues” 🙄 but the instability is itself the problem. Now there’s doubt, and doubt doesn’t go away when the site is fixed.

Wanted to tell everyone not in Seattle that we had a primary election last night and all the centrist incumbents, including our Big Loser Energy mayor, city council president, and city attorney, are trailing their progressive challengers.

Yeah I think that’s the problem for me. It’s too close to what is already happening. Hard to do satire when reality is a joke.

Remember how the vote totals changed after election night, and it became a conspiracy theory? They are counting on people not understanding how reliable epistemic processes work over time—or that at least they will be open to perceiving model refinement and other processes as suspicious.

White and brown puppy with two feet up in my lab and some drool on my shorts. One of his ears is up, but still kind of resting on his head. The other is, I don't know. This boy's ears are strange.
These ears have a mind of their own.

DOJ Investigation into George Mason Faculty Senate Sparks Academic Freedom Concerns
AAUP President calls federal probe "gross misuse of power" as university faces fifth inquiry in five weeks.
“If the DOJ can investigate faculty governance bodies for citing a university's own strategic plan, then no campus is safe.
"Let's call this what it is: a gross misuse of federal power to chill speech, silence faculty, & undermine shared governance.”
— Todd Wolfson, AAUP President
