There is a nice discussion of some of the history of these terms in Plesser (2018) doi.org/10.3389/fnin...
I would prefer to support non-profit / community-based tools. The @cnrs.fr gives some good reasons to avoid the commercial tools in their article about why they're no longer paying for WoK (www.cnrs.fr/en/update/cn...; they already dropped Scopus in 2024)
Our work on training biophysical models with Jaxley is now out in @natmethods.nature.com. Led by @deismic.bsky.social, with @philipp.hertie.ai, @ppjgoncalves.bsky.social & @jakhmack.bsky.social et al.

Very honored to receive the Royal Society Research Culture Award - this represents the work of a great team who've worked non-stop since we launched bioRxiv in 2013 royalsociety.org/news/2025/08... www.cshl.edu/inglis-and-s...
Congrats to SpiNNcloud startup! A great example of European AI innovation & brain tech evolving from research to commercial success!
The SpiNNaker2 chip was developed under Prof. Mayr’s leadership in Dresden, as part of the EU Flagship Human Brain Project. More info: www.linkedin.com/feed/update/...
Data reuse represents an opportunity to accelerate science, reduce costs and increase the value of investments. But to date, the field hasn't placed equal emphasis on the reuse side of the data-sharing equation, writes @bendichter.com

A recent article from the Institute Pasteur blog compares EBRAINS, DANDI and OpenNeuro as data repositories.
It highlights the different types of neuroscience data that EBRAINS accepts, as well as the curation services that EBRAINS offers.

The International Brain Laboratory reproducibility platform paper is now published at eLife. An amazing effort by many different labs and individuals to understand and improve the reproducibility of electrophysiological measurements in mice. 🧠

Instead, we just need systems that make it easy for the scientific community to give feedback on papers that is prominently displayed and summarised every time the paper is accessed.
Get a hands-on glimpse into the various software tools @ebrains.bsky.social has to offer, Europe's emerging RI for brain research. Choose from over 16 software tutorials -- I will also be there with a tutorial on #ephys data analysis using Elephant and data handling with Neo. See you there!
I finally got around to putting my notes on this online a couple of weeks ago: andrewdavison.info/notes/typese...
"How dare we, as scientists, decry the general population’s distrust of science, when we teach our junior scientists to follow fads and chase citations?"
I'll be there with colleagues from my lab, giving tutorials on working with data and metadata in the EBRAINS Knowledge Graph.
Hi @incforg.bsky.social please add me to the list!
Bahar Gholipour reflects on the legacy of Yves Frégnac, the French neuroscientist who built his career by meeting neuroscience’s complexity straight on.

RIP Yves you're with us in our heart & mind🕊️
Yves created a fantastic vibrant department beautifully named
"Unité de Neurosciences Information et Complexité", characteristic of the spirit of interdisciplinary science needed for studying the brain. I was fortunate to spend some formative years there
