I’m with you on that. How could mocking another’s disability by a world leader be normalised and trivialised. Amongst his plethora of horrible character traits, that one sticks in my gut most

What an album. The Partisan never fails to haunt me. I so wish we still had Lenny reflecting on these troubling times.

A headline in an Australian paper - ‘Why Kimmel’s Demise is so Right’. I couldn’t read a word of it. It’s what I resent so much about conservative media and US authoritarian politics - it’s claiming my open mindedness.

I’ve just read Alexei Navalny’s memoir Patriot. To think the US aligns itself with Russia whose institutions have been gutted of integrity and corruption has stolen the future of its people. Where dissidents are silenced and the monsters almost always eat the heroes. Shame on Trump and his enablers

A sincere question. In Australia when a major party losses an election the leader becomes Leader of the Opposition or resigns. The point is they become the spokesperson for opposition. Is there a leadership vacuum in the US now or does it fall to individuals who rise to meet the moment?

As a recent convert to Bluesky I am reassured by how affirming, intelligent and non- toxic it is, especially during these dark US times. I’m Australian and my heart is with those many Americans who resist the thuggish assault upon their rights freedoms and the soul of their great nation.
